Ilse Torres Quezada is a dual-qualified lawyer licensed to practise in both Canada and Mexico. She provides legal services in English and Spanish and brings experience in both civil and common law systems to her practice.


Experience in
Mexico
Ilse obtained her Jalisco State and Mexican Federal licences in 2013. Before relocating to Canada, she worked within Mexico’s civil law system for several years.
From 2010 to 2013, she completed her internship at the Fourth Civil Court of Puerto Vallarta, gaining experience in family, civil, contract, administrative, and commercial matters. She then served as a Legal Representative for the Municipal Government of Puerto Vallarta (2013–2015), where she represented the Municipality in legal proceedings and inter-agency matters.
Experience in Canada
Ilse completed the Internationally Trained Lawyer Pathway Program (ITLPP) at the University of Alberta in 2022. She articled and later practiced as an associate at a downtown Edmonton firm from 2022 to 2025 and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2024.
In Canada, Ilse has worked with both Canadian and Latino clients, supporting Spanish-speaking clients who require legal guidance in their first language. In 2025, she received the inaugural Rising Star Award at the ITL Conference and Gala in Calgary. This award, presented by the ITL Network, recognizes an Internationally Trained Lawyer who demonstrates leadership, legal excellence, and dedication to clients.

Ilse provides legal guidance for individuals facing DUI-related charges and administrative penalties, including Immediate Roadside Sanctions (IRS). She assists clients in understanding the process, rights, and options, and supports them throughout their interactions with police and the courts.

With licences in both Mexico and Canada, Ilse provides guidance on matters that involve both jurisdictions, including business, property, family, contracts, and immigration issues. Her experience with both civil and common law systems allows her to assist clients navigating legal processes in Mexico and Canada.

Ilse provides guidance and support in family, real estate, and immigration matters, including separation agreements, child and spousal support matters, property transactions, and cross-border considerations. She works to help clients understand their options and make informed decisions.

Ilse has experience interacting with both federal and municipal authorities in Mexico and can assist clients who are navigating matters such as business establishment, property-related issues, family law matters, or immigration-related processes.
